Pears

Pears are a good source of vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Due to the fiber content they are great for helping to alleviate constipation. They are very nutritious, but still gentle enough for them to be a great food for babies with reflux. Pears can be prepared 2 different ways. A good ripe pear can be mashed up for babies, unless they are under about 8 months old. If your baby is under 8 months old, give it a gentle steaming and then puree it. Pear skins are easily digestable, but it is suggested that if you are feeding pears to a baby 6 months or younger, you peel the pear. After the age of 6 months it's basically up to you.
